Real-time indoor air-quality network

A planetary network for the air we breathe.

We spend ~90% of our lives indoors. The AIRO A1 measures the air where you live and work — and rewards you with $AIRO for sharing what it finds.

01 — The mission

The air we prize is, collectively, toxic.

CO₂ emissions keep skyrocketing — driving rising temperatures and global warming. The breath of life that keeps us alive is quietly killing us. We believe understanding the air is the first step to reclaiming it.

“One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things.” — The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse · Charlie Mackesy
Empower individuals
Give everyone cutting-edge air-quality technology, not just governments.
Map the world
Replace sparse, government-only sensors with a dense, community-owned grid.
Reward clean air
Incentivize the behaviour and infrastructure that lead to a healthier planet.
02 — Why indoors

The air that matters most is the air indoors.

We spend ~90% of our lives inside, where pollutants concentrate 2–5× higher than outdoors — yet almost no one measures it. A rewarded indoor sensor in every room is the gamechanger: it finally makes that invisible air visible, at scale.

Fine particles (PM2.5) slip past the body’s defenses — deep into the lungs and bloodstream, where they’re linked to respiratory and cardiovascular disease. Rewarding people to measure their own indoor air turns prevention into something worth doing.

03 — How it works

Four steps from your room to the network.

Anyone can join. Together, thousands of small monitors become a dense, community-owned map of air quality — recorded on Sui so the data stays trustworthy and tamper-proof.

01

Deploy

Place your AIRO A1 indoors — home or office, where you spend most of your day. Plug into USB-C, join Wi-Fi, done.

02

Measure

Continuous indoor sensing of PM, CO₂, VOCs, CO, temperature and humidity — second by second.

03

Verify

Your readings are recorded on the Sui network on a regular schedule, so the data stays accurate and tamper-proof — and trustworthy for everyone who uses the map.

04

Earn

Get rewarded in $AIRO for every verified reading you share. The more reliable your monitor, the bigger your share of the rewards.

04 — The hardware

Meet the AIRO A1.

A precision indoor air-quality monitor engineered in Romania — laser particulate sensing, an environmental sensor and a dual-core radio, in a palm-sized shell that never stops listening to the air.

The next generation

Meet AIRO A2.

Lab-grade sensing, reimagined as an object you want on the shelf. Watch it come together — sensors seat into place, and the crystal breathes the air it reads: green when it's clean, amber when it drifts, red when it's time to act.

The evolution

From A1 to A2.

The A1 proved people want to see their air. The A2 is that idea rebuilt from the silicon up — fewer parts, better sensors, and a body you'd actually want on the shelf.

A1 · 2022 AIRO A1 circuit board — breakout modules on headers
Off-the-shelf sensor breakouts on headers, a UART mux to juggle them, and a now end-of-life MCU. It worked — but it was costly to build.
A2 · 2027 AIRO A2 circuit board — single integrated all-I²C board
One integrated board. Every sensor on a single I²C bus, a modern ESP32-S3, USB-C done right — fewer parts, lower cost, more reliable.

Built to assemble

Snaps together in a minute.

No soldering, no loose cables. The factory ships the board fully populated; the rest clicks into place.

  1. 1 Drop the board into the base on four standoffs.
  2. 2 Seat the sensor modules — push connectors, no wires.
  3. 3 Set the 24-LED ring, then clip on the crystal.
Getting here wasn't free

The hard parts we solved.

A crystal that still breathes

The gem is a sealed light chamber. All airflow hides in the base — intake → sensors → fan → rear exhaust — with the particulate sensor on its own clean path. No light leaks at the seam.

A board that loads from below

The rectangular board can't pass the round top opening — so the base became two pieces and the PCB drops in from underneath. A flaw turned into cleaner assembly.

No cables to pinch

Sensor modules seat directly onto the board through push connectors. Nothing to mis-route, nothing to snag during assembly or service.

Keeping the radio happy

A clean keep-out around the antenna means nearby metal and traces don't detune the Wi-Fi/BLE radio — connectivity stays solid inside a dense little body.

An even, whole-crystal glow

A frosted interior, a diffuser disc and a reflective LED cup turn 24 LEDs into one soft, even glow that fills the whole gem — not bright bars.

Readings you can trust

A buck regulator instead of an LDO, a thermally isolated sensor island, and the temperature sensor placed upstream of the CO₂ sensor keep self-heat from skewing the numbers.

Positioning
$199 launch · $299 MSRP

Premium, on purpose

We could have chased a $99 price by downgrading the sensors. We didn't. True NDIR CO₂, VOC + NOx and a laser particulate sensor cost more — because accurate air data is the entire point.

The price challenge

Honest hardware economics

A2 is priced to be a real, profitable product on its own — so the $AIRO rewards your device earns are a genuine bonus on top, never a subsidy propping up the price. The hardware stands on its own two feet.

Inside the A2

From your air to the network.

Room air passes four lab-grade sensors, the ESP32-S3 turns it into an air-quality score, the crystal breathes that colour, and an hourly proof on Sui mines $AIRO. Watch it happen — or trigger a pollution event.

Simulated demo of the real device pipeline. On the shipping A2 these are live readings over I²C, recorded on Sui.

The companion app

Your air, in your pocket.

Every A2 pairs with an app that turns raw sensor data into something you glance at and act on — and lets you make the crystal yours.
